Writeboard looks like a great wiki-like free collaborative service.

I set up a free account with Jotlive to give it a thorough testing as a possible collaborative workspace for professors.

I think I may have mentioned wikibooks here before, but just in case I didn’t, I have now. Free books for education. Nice.

This, I hope, is the beginning of a new trend in technology in education: “Goldsmiths College, University of London is offering new graduate research students starting their courses in September 2005 the unique opportunity to have a lecture specifically focused on Creative Commons copyright during induction week!”

Google has released a new blog-specific variant of their search engine. Here’s a search for pedagogy that I conducted using the new tool. As with all things Google these days, it is still in beta.

You can now sign up for a Second Life account for free, which means you could also sign up your students and have a virtual classroom in a virtual space.

I just received beta access to Writely; it looks pretty interesting and potentially very useful in an academic setting, but unfortunately, it is not yet Safari-compatible.
